A trip to the Marina Bay, the most succesful Integrated Resort among the ones property of Las Vegas Sands Corporation. An enormous complex with 2.500 hotel rooms, a gigantic and luxurious shopping mall, dozens of conference and convention centers, museums, and a broad offer of leisure possibilities. All this surrounding and supported by the Casino, which takes only 3% of the land, but represents 80% of the whole business.
The Marina Bay stands on the shoulders of a very low working class of inmigrants with extremely little rights. Young men from Bangladesh and India, who are forced to live in overcrowded dorms in order to save some money to send back home. After a determined period of time, they have to return to their countries, very often with less money than they had before. The Las Vegas Sands Integrated Resorts are very attractive, especially to the 'nouveau riche' coming from emerging countries, but underneath the surface the cards are marked.
